An estate home that once belonged to comedic actor Bill Murray was placed back on the market late last year. The home was built at the behest of Murray and his then-wife Margaret Kelly on the site of a 19th-century barn, as reported by FOX Business.
The 1868 Gothic revival home is located at 19 Ludlow Lane, Snedens Landing, a charming subset of the village of Palisades in New York’s Rockland County. While he lived there Murray’s neighbors included Scarlett Johansson and Al Pacino, with the three stars burnishing the area’s reputation as “Hollywood on the Hudson.”
Murray’s former 5,177-square-foot home features five spacious bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and a striking living room adorned with 15-foot ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace, and an office nook with a built-in daybed.
The bright kitchen benefits from plenty of natural light. The baseboard and crown moldings give the space an upscale look, but the island, counters and cupboards have been strategically placed to facilitate even the most novice chefs.
A set of French doors leads to a wrap-around porch that provides gorgeous views of the grounds through all four seasons of the year.
The staircase leading to the upper floor has been designed to maximize natural light.
A short walk from those steps leads to the master bedroom, a spacious retreat with its own bath and extensive closets.
