Inside the Former Mansion of Drummer Tommy Lee

The Calabasas, Calif., mansion of Mötley Crüe rocker Tommy Lee was sold in 2023 after languishing on the market for years. It’s now back up for sale after an extensive renovation, at the screamingly good price of $4.3 million.

Marianne Garvey charted the behind-the-scenes activity of this property at Realtor.com.

The valuation of this home has bounced up and down like a good guitar lick.

The rocker bought the property in 2007 for $5.85 million. In 2016, he sought to divest himself of it at an asking price of $6 million. Absent any takers, the home sat for the next seven years. A new owner scooped it up in 2023 for $3.6 million and is now eager to transfer the deed in exchange for one million more than he or she paid.

It’s not such a bad deal, considering the home’s renovations and upgrades.

The living room, for example, sits harmoniously adjacent to a den, enabling a free-flow airiness between two different spaces for spending time with guests.

Downstairs is a media room. Given its placement of speakers, watching a rock concert or video at full volume can be teeth-rattlingly enjoyable.

The home of a rock icon has to have plenty of space for a sweet fleet of high-performance cars. This property ticks that box with its combination garage and carport.
